FEBRUARY

February is Joint Health Month:

Fotolia_14702410_XS

Did you know that ‘slowing down’ isn’t a normal part of aging?  We hear all the time of elderly folks doing incredible things like finishing marathons and hiking the Grand Canyon.  They certainly haven’t slowed down, so why should your normally active dog or cat?  The answer to that question is too often pain.  Dogs and cats will not cry out if things hurt, just as we do not even if getting off the floor takes a bit more out of us than it did before.  Just like us, dogs and cats can be helped to move freer and feel better as their joints age.

Just as we have many options to help us beat the aches and pains of arthritis and degenerative joint disease, so do our pets.  These options can range from simple Nutraceuticals, to pain killers, laser therapy and massage, to stem cell therapy (which is not available to our human friends!)  Please come in and speak with your veterinarian about the many ways you can help keep your pet healthy and young acting well into his or her senior years!
